Thank you Corsica for the lovely weekend.
And now, it's back to the real world and work. Though, right now that means heading to Paris for more strategy sessions and then off to India. Not such a rough reality.
Today we hit the Corsican coast. It was absolutely beautiful. However the wind was just nippy enough to prevent us from frolicking in the water. But that didn't stop Nico from playing in the sand and Aunt Josie from taking a wine-induced nap on the beach. Then we drove along the scenic route to L'Ile Rousse and continuously had to lift our jaws from off the ground. The views were spectacular.
We had no real destination in mind for L'Ile, only that it was supposed to ...
... a lack of light and windy roads, I suspect some beautiful scenery awaits us in the morning.
Now Nico is having dreams about barcos and autos. Rudi is opening some Tuscan wine they brought along and Gaby is trying to find us some English TV. So far we've settled on the French Dancing with the Stars. And I spotted a familiar SYTYCD face, Jean Marc Genereux is a judge!

... grounds for the hundreds of motorhomes that we see are really just dusty paddocks. Would be pretty depressing pulling into one of those every night. On the way to Calvi we are stopped on the road by French Customs. They wanted to see our "papers" - really, I thought that only happened in the movies. After answering numerous questions, "What are you smuggling?", "Have you worked illegally?", "What type of guns do you have in the back?" ...
Oh WOW. We have found heaven - think we'll stay. How absolutely gobsmackingly gorgeous can one place be??? We left Bonafacio this morning for what we thought would be a four hour drive up the east coast of the island, across a few mountains in the middle, to our next stop, L'ile Rouse, on the far west coast. Boy, it is spectacular! The drive was shorter than we thought, the roads were great, wide (!!), smooth and with little traffic. We saw a few crazy road signs - a man riding a cow ...
