we're here and it's snowing!

hello everyone!

so we got to London at 5PM on Saturday, jumped on a coach and went to France. We got there around 11.30AM on Sunday and just chilled out for the rest of the day, were a bit dead from the coach journey. there wasn't any snow when we got there.... got a bit drunk in the chalet in the evening but couldn't go out as nowhere was open!

Monday we got up and it had snowed overnight and it hasn't stopped since! started training, got uniform etc ...

Winter is coming.

... out from lack of oxygen I was able to gather myself and enjoy some really amazing views along with a packed lunch. After the mountain trek we went into the small ski town and enjoyed some of our "favorite brewage and enjoyed the surroundings" (per request of prof. Delmar).

Heading to Rome and Barcelona next week, another post should follow shortly after.

We're approaching the final week of this "bi-mester." The work load is getting steadily heavier and I combat it by ...

Chamonnix Oct 22-23, 2009

... places that were dead I decided to
head to the Sports Bistro and have a beer and see how my appetite
was. The bar was like the local Cheers bar as many groups of friends
were hanging out. One thing I have noticed in Chamonix, there are
many dogs, and perhaps more Golden Retrievers than I have seen in one
location in Europe. It is also not unusual to see the dogs with
their owners in bars and restaurants and the Sports Bistro was no
exception. When I entered ...

... enjoyed
the week that we spend in New England. Four days after returning
from New England, I then boarded the train to Chicago take 32 people
from Chicago to Las Vegas via Provo, Utah. I was sent over the day
before the tour and I ended up seeing my original travel buddy, Tom
Herron and his family and it was great to catch up with him. We used
to hang out a lot when we were both single, but times have changed
and our time together has been limited over the ...

Mont Blanc!

It's a driving day today..as we have decided to cross Switzerland just over the border to Chamonix, Mont Blanc in France. We got up for breakfast, heading down at 9.30am, breakfast was average..didn't really love the hotel as the ladys cleaning the rooms were banging around at all hours..and the room was too hot without the windows (and mossies!) open. We did a bit of research when we finally got some internet at breakfast and decided that we were heading towards Zurich, so at around ...

Skiiers paradise and Jon's nightmare

... half bottle of wine at dinner, so realistically, we barely drank anything. I told them we had 1 glass of wine each at dinner ( to make things simple), but they still made Jon blow into this gimmicky balloon and it showed that Jon was over the 0.025 limit. That kind of freaked us out, because we had no idea that the limit was a lot more strict in France. So they say that Jon needs to go back to the station with them to do a real ...

trekking next to Mont Blanc

As we were next to the Alps, we decided to go trekking around Chamonix for a couple of days, and get some fresh mountain air. Nats felt at home as the place we stayed in Chamonix was the exact same as where she stayed 4 years ago when she came skiing here!!

We were very lucky wih the weather on the first day, and the views over the mountain range was magnificent. We walked from Vallorcine up to the lac ...

Snowboarding in Style

... a lot of powder days, although we were often ski-ing in a blizzard. Brendon was in his element most of the time well the holiday mostly revolved around all his favourite things- snowboarding, drinking, eating and great company with no housework. who could ask for more. It was a great week and went by very fast. It was a bit depressing catching the train back to London. Hope everyone is well and send some news love Jeanette and Brendon

Skiing is for little fat kids

... there? No, he hauls out his mobile phone and proceeds to Bluetooth people in the van videos etc, and receive others back and focus all his attention on his mobile while driving on the busy road, cigarette in the other hand. Personally I believe he should've been paying us 10€ each (actually a lot more) to entrust our lives on this extreme joy ride, if you could call it that. Well, fortunately we made it alive to the station thought adrenaline levels ...
