The castle owners commissioned a number of artists about 20 years ago to create sculptures in the forest. Many of these are very interesting and others have fallen down over the years. We also found hundreds of blackberry bushes laden with fruit.

We visited the church which is the highest point on the island to get a great view of the villages, countryside and surrounding sea. The church is also the final resting place of the nobles who have owned much of the island for many centuries. They get a whole wing of the church for their stone caskets.
Kirsten cooked us another amazing meal of local food accompanied by a bottle of Cloudy Bay Eric found.
... we would have had a very long day! The conductor was so helpful advising us where to catch the right train and what time the next one was going. A great introduction to how friendly the Danes are.

... Set out on our bikes to the next town (going back toward the town we were in) called Aeroscobing. What an amazing village! Enjoyed lunch there and then pedalled back to camp. All in all about 30 klms, the only downfall was the winds were about 60 klm per hour....crazy wind. We have added pictures but they will never do justice to the beauty of this island.
