... Well this afternoon I am going with some friends to have a french croissant in Collonges for the first time! I have heard that France has a total of around 38,000 boulangeries (bakeries). They take their bread very seriously! Even Collonges, which is a very small town, maybe even a village, has three bakeries! My plan was hatched. The target for the day was a 2222m mountain near Bernex called Dent D'Oche. It had a route to the summit and a refuge some 200m below that. It was a glorious day. Nick was taking the kids and Mum to a small lake nearby, which was set up for swimming.
