We arrived late after a big day of travel. A pretty town rising on both sides from a river with foot and road bridges every 50 meters.
After our delicious lunch we ate light in an upstairs Creperie run by a Mother and son. Just the job, a carafe of wine and a savory and sweet crepe each.
As we were walking about 100 or so runners with head lamps passed us, off on some nighttime endurance run I suspect. Completely mad!
... Now clearly a tourist site with many french tourists taking advantage of the long weekend to visit without the hoards of Poms.
A picturesque stop and a break from inland visits, the remainder of the trip in France will follow the coast.
Our Penultimate Day in Brittany
We took Joyce and Bill to the train station this morning for their journey to London and then home to Halifax. We had one last petit dejeuner together at the station. Their train was a TGV fast trail to Lille, France to connect with the Eurostar for London.

Today our trip to Tregunc and Concarneau and Pont Aven on the south coast of Brittany was in bright sunshine. From St Malo it took about 3 hours. We checked in at the hotel Les Grandes Roches (the big rocks) and discovered that it was a Relais du Silence- a quiet place for relaxation. We tripped into Concarneau for a light lunch and to buy bread, cheese, sliced meats ...
... dine tonight. We’ve only had a brief brunch and a lot of water…well….there WAS that milkshake!
