Today we took the train from Singapore to a town in the middle of peninsular Malaysia called Jerantut. We had to be at the station at 5 in the morning for a half five departure. ... bin... Also wurde das ganze mit Moskitostichen abgetan. Am naechsten Morgen war das ganze Ausmass dann sichtbar! Wollten das Uebel aber immer noch nicht wahrhaben.
Also ging's erstmal in die Cameron Highlands, wo es angenehm kuehl war und wir uns die Teeplantagen und Butterfly- und Erdbeerfarmen (inkl. Verkostung! Mhh!) angeschaut haben. Die Fahrt in die Berge ging vorbei an kleinen Doerfern und Huettchen der Einheimischen und die Wolken steckten ...
Days 8 & 9
... a town approximately an hour and a half's bus ride away from Taman Negara. We had not booked accommodation in advance, but as soon as we arrived in Jerantut we spied many of the hostels mentioned in the Rough Guide, and settled for the more appealing of the bunch, Sri Kim Yen - which has turned out to be quite luxurious compared to our jungle chalet, in that we have a large bathroom!
