Pepsi or Korea?

... top 50, and I couldn't find them there either. Needless to say, given Korean Air's standing, I expected a lot when I boarded our 2 pm flight to Icheon/ Seoul.

At check- in, I was greeted with a huge smile. It seemed genuine. I mean, sure, it could have been my t- shirt; after all, a big logo that reads "You are my sunshine!" tends to put people in a good mood. Or the fact that my facial expression read, "Can't wait to get out of Beijing." But whatever the cause, it ...

Regional Reverie Goes Very Fast Again

An early start for me today to pack up and catch the 8:30am KTX (Korea Train Xpress) high speed train to Seoul. After checking in, it was time for the world's largest aquarium. Whale sharks and hammerheads were the key features, which was interesting with snorkelling with the former ...

Time to say goodbye to South Korea

... country was one of such diverse natural beauty. The forests and lakes, the mountains and the valleys, are very picturesque and the landscape of the islands is stunning. The volcanic islands, lava tufts, lava tubes and sheer, black cliffs and rock formations have been beautiful to behold.

This is a very modern country, and the infrastructure makes travel easy, cheap and comfortable. It is a pity that much of the traditional Korea was lost ...

Soul Food in Seoul

... at the Palace for 2013 We visited the National Palace Museum as well as doing a tour of the Royal Palace at Gyeongbokgung. The only down side was the time of year - it would look absolutely gorgeous in about 1-2 months, when the grass is green and all the gardens and trees are in bloom.

We also explored a number of markets (Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, Itaewon and Yongsan), spending a bit of money and tried ...
