However there was the best meal of the trip to be found here so far. ... but here, rather than the Rajputs, the Jats ruled. I am reminded somehow of West Side Story. The Jat history is of much more recent times. The fort sports bastions of mud which, rather than being destroyed by cannon balls, simply swallowed them up. For some reason this mud fort is called the iron fort. This we do not see but are told of it nonetheless.
