Ostend, Belguim was a quick 2 night stopover on our way to Amsterdam.

It had a huge beach and a large esplanade with some cool orange art features.

It was empty of people and would be one of those places that come alive in summer.

We did a day trip to the nearby gorgeous city of Bruges.

This is a cool city centred around a couple of big plazas, lots of canals and pretty photo

There appears to have been a tech problem with photos on the blog website. I've notified Travelpod and they said it's been fixed. Bright blue skies early then partly cloudy later, 13-22deg, 50km, av. 15.9km/h, tot. 1430km. Due to a late brekky we didn't get away till 9:30am. I was up at 5am. Just 90 minutes until the 2013 AFL Grand Final. Scarf on, time to creep downstairs. I paid $15AUD to stream it online, turning out to be an excellent investment. It meant reliable high quality channel 7 coverage of not only the match, but pre and post match entertainment. On Berts large PC monitor, it was just as good as watching it at home. What a result! Premiers 2013! Go Hawks! It meant Id be exhausted for todays trip ...

... the window! As much as it is an accepted part of life in Amsterdam,it was sad. Or I thoughts much - people (tourists) would just walk by and laugh and look with no shame or consideration of the person behind the window! We did see the salvos going round all the windows with hot drinks and food ;) Saying all of this the experience was quite incredible. I managed to get the whole group lost on the way home :( so took a bicycle taxi home! Great fun :/ our hostels have been great and ...
