... waves. It was a great feeling and really nice to know how to do it. The lesson had certainly been worth it. We had the same lunch as yesterday - shrimps and chicken kebabs with garlic bread...deliciously simple and tasty. Fortified with a bit of food I went to try some surfing again, there were few waves and even the good guys didn't catch many. So back to shore I went to help Do continue with her fitness regime. This time she wanted to run up the steps - 176 steep steps to the top. ...

... it was possible, I now had had even less success. It was just all one big battle with my board and the waves. Bruised and battered I gratefully retired. Clearly there was more to this surfing than meets the eye! We stayed on the beach enjoying a couple of the now mandatory Caipirinhas until the sun went down and then taxied back to the hotel to tidy ourselves up before dinner. We had a lovely evening in Pipa. Being a Friday night it was really busy ...

Weatherwise all this meant was that it rained (for 2 months of the year) and was just a couple of degrees cooler. But the rain ...

... glad to have gotten out there. Tomorrow we'd continue the fit blitz with sprints on the beach at low tide. The lady at our Pousada recommended a local Italian restuarant for dinner. We'd actually only eaten Brasilian food the whole holiday so decided that it'd be great to try something else. So off we set for 'Pan e Vino' for what turned out to be a truely fabulous meal. Delicious Bruschetas, Gnocci, Spaghetti and Ravioli, all washed down with ...

... to be the result of this kind of mixing together. There's a video attached, but please don't watch if you have issues with flashing lights! We got to keep the victory party going into the early hours of the morning. It was exactly the right way to end the day. Tuesday started slow for obvious reasons. For the first part of the day, we still had a post-victory daze about us. We went over to the Natal beachfront to check out the ...
