Viewing the painting with our eyes and no background in art or the history of what was proper for the times, one would never guess that this painting caused a lot of people to get their undies in a bunch because Titian did the unthinkable- he put the normal mortals in the same painting as Mary and God.

    ... before leaving the ship. I found waffles at the breakfast buffet, with cream and today there was strawberries. STRAWBERRIES yummy. I hope there waffles in Dubai.     ... turned around and gave his flower back but I'm dying to see someone just keep walking with it, ignoring the request for money. There are tons of great little shops here, and so many are artists workshops where you can see them work as well as buy stuff (ceramics, pottery, jewelry). Very cool. Lots of places to grab food too, both quickly and longer sit down, so I think we're going to be ok here. It's so beautiful, full of tiny alleys and twisting streets, ...

    ... again we realized we live on Calle dei Saoneri and not Calle de la Saoneria…Eventually we stumbled upon Calle Seconda dei Saoneri and reasoned that the second street with the same name should be next to the first one…we were right. Amazingly enough I opened both doors on the first try and the 62 stairs up to the loft were never so appreciated.

    ... us without fail. Each of the places we have visited has had its own charm, and Venice is no different. Before coming here we had heard that the canals smell and are dirty. That certainly is not our take on that situation. It has been an enjoyable 5 days of experiencing something very different, wandering the narrow streets of shopping and artsy areas, riding the Vaporetto’s with the locals who are taking their kids to school or off to work.
