    ... dark wood and high mildewed ceilings in the old part of town. My room was guarded by two mannequins dressed in traditional clothing. They didn't freak me out at all.     Day 10

    The largest Turkish city on the western Mediterranean coast, Antalya was a lovely place to spend our next few nights. Our accommodation was located down one of the many little laneways that meander around this wonderfully preserved old city district of Kaleici. Surrounded by the remnants of rock walls, the area nestles in the cliffs around the old Roman harbour with amazing views from every angle.

    ... out from crevices in the rock face, all caused by methane gas! The popular thing to do there is to toast marshmallows over the flames. Some people even braai sausage!!! We were very chuffed with ourselves for getting to the top and making it down in the dark and as Mike and Linda both said "wouldnt my oncologist and cardiologist be proud of me now!!"
