... the camera which is now broken. The lens is shot and won’t even allow us to take pictures. At least it isn’t my new camera but come on. Luckily we did manage to salvage the photos he took before the “incident”. So enjoy.

... here. I would walk the trails which at first seemed cool but even walking the paths in the rain to dinner were daunting…slippery and very dark and those paths are illuminated. I can see that venturing onto a trail at night without the benefit of a guide would be dangerous at best.

So the rain kept up and we have even had thunder both days which is really cool and some distant lightning…no cool cloud to ground stuff but ...

... any night driving and we are so rural that you eat here or not at all. It was a great dinner though. Not cheap but very good. We can drink the water here as they have a purifying system which is nice since we have not stocked up on bottled waters yet. Jym and I are not coping with the altitude change I fear. ... be. It just isn't spicy like Mexican food. I had that for dinner and for lunch today. For breakfast we had coffee, bread with butter and honey, yogurt and eggs. The yogurt is poured into a glass and you drink it, kind of like a Dannon "Drinkable" in the U.S. It is very good, though.

... We mimicked this as we entered the hut. The locals we met were wearing traditional loin cloths made from bark. We sat in the main hut while a girl spoke in Spanish and Didi translated for us. She speaks her native language and Spanish. She showed us some traditional wooden masks, all brightly painted with different jungle animals (eg jaguar for strength, toucan and parrot, frog etc), as well as a rain stick and small hand drum made with iguana skin.
