... the obligatory vignette for the car! After all, our sojourn into Switzerland was going to be very short lived so it didn't seem to be worthy to spend the money. Last time we journeyed onto their roads, it cost us CHF70 - about $85 - for just a few hours! Switzerland is expensive so we figured we would avoid it this time. Talk about driving and trying not to draw attention to ourselves! On our journey we discovered this tiny place - ...

... and rougher until in disappears altogether alongside the river... and I find myself heading back to San Giagomo a third time, feeling quite frustrated with myself. I try to figure out the best way to take my video clip ...

I know that the uphill climb is getting close, including my big goal: to cross the Splugenpass from Italy to Switzerland on foot. I know it was just planted here for the warm months, but seeing a banana tree in someone's yard just feels really unappropriate. C'mon folks, this is the ...

Day 274 3 hrs, 3 kms In the morning I go to check out the waterfall again. Not a very big waterfall--but a nice way to start out my morning. On the rocky shore of the river a group of young folks are camping out. Nice to see a few other folks enjoying the pleasure of sleeping out of doors (although admittedly my real motive is stinginess--not a love for sleeping under the stars!) It sound like there's a much higher waterfall up a bend in a slit like gorge--but I ...
