... mosaic tiles and lots of little bars and restaurants. All old but mostly well maintained. Main piazza and duomo had medieval look and were huge. Church was designed to be biggest in Europe till Papa stepped in. Taxi to Ducati 20€ for museum tour which had to be booked and was a bit disappointing cause factory closed this week. ... me :-) Over lunch Joanna mentioned a a walk to a great viewing point just pitside the old city walls through 666 porticos. I thought it would be a great idea to go for a walk after such a big lunch and a very late lunch, I think I left at around 4pm. The Portico of San Luca - 3.8 km or 666 porticos leads up to the basilica Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca. Each portico is numbered so you can work out how far along the journey you are. ... I couldn't get the first door to open - it flashed green but the door seemed to be jammed. Just as I was heading back to reception, one of the bar staff walked around the corner so I asked him for assistance. He tried and tried and tried. He called someone else who tried and tried and tried. Then they called the tour leader (a Japanese group I think) of the girl who is in room 212B and they tried calling her. No answer.
