Spent another night on a parking lot near the city centre. When trying to find a decent place to park our van near all the sights, we got caught up in a lybyrinth of narrow streets, filled with cars (sometimes even in the middle of the crossings...). Well, Boštjan is a very good driver, but my nerves are not as good as I thought.

With the help of a security guard at a bank in one of the ...
Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain moki_travels... a caravan of eligible Spanish women are shipped in to meet the local men! Upon reading this, I immediately decided to move to a small town in Aragon; any one will do, as long as the caravan pays a visit there. Or maybe I can convince the caravan to make a stop in Calgary?

Seeing a number of windmills and vast fields of solar panels as I rode on the bus, I remembered a David Suzuki documentary I saw several months ago, about renewable sources of ...
Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain and Canary Islands pwongJune 14, Sunday

I think I lost a day somewhere along the line. Anyway we left this morning after a long wait for the woman to come at 10, she was late, as the elderly man on the reception did not know how to take a credit card payment. So much for being ready to leave 1 hour before our scheduled time, we left late.

We are on toll highways to get us to and around Barcelona. They are pretty cheap ...

Saragossa, Aragon, Spain davebren... so a great hostel all around. Then for Faro which was mainly just for a stop over as didn't want to be on a bus for 6 hours back to Spain. Next day we headed back to Spain and this time no passport checking at all, just all of a sudden you start seeing Spanish flags so realise you are in Spain, we went to Seville where we went to watch a free Flamingo Show at a local bar but was it was people who were leering to Flamingo dance would come and dance in front of a audience, the pub ...
Spain, Portugal, West Africa, Spain kirstenian... whole night and you will experience a night life unseen in England, there is no fighting, no presence of danger, no divides of the cool/trendy/beautiful/young/straight/ga y/freaky its just everyone thrown in this big mixing pot which you imagine that it would just be waiting to kick off, like a friday night last orders in London/Nottingham or Ilkeston but no it really is just people out to have a good time, mingling, dancing, laughing, on the pull, getting drunk, taking ...
Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain and Canary Islands elrigster... years old built of dry fit stone and stil standing: From Zaragoza we travelled ,ore easterly toward Lleida Catalan. Amongst the ochre coloured rocks and mist blue with mountain ranges were immense wind farms. Turbines and tozers several hundreds of feet high. Onward our lovely 1 litre Fiat Punta purred toward LLieda.
Lliedia, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands hollingers... Mary ever appeared to Saint James there, or that Saint James ever even visited the spot, or Spain in general really. There are other stories about him involving Spain, most of them seem to stem from the clergy trying to work up Christian fervour during the "holy" wars against the Muslims (he is supposed to have appeared in several battles and slaughtered hundreds of Muslims single handedly, as well as Native Americans when the Spanish began exploring ...
Zaragoza, Spain englishanddrunk... chucos' and I was like 'what's that?' and she was like 'you don't know what they are? This is a chuco!' and gave me a huge hug. It was cute. We have a lot of fun and they always call me 'nina pequena' or 'mija pequena' which I love. And we talk about how I'm going to go to university in Spain. I said I didn't want to go back the United States so we decided I'm staying here. It's perfect! Homework time. Hasta luego! (o talogo as the Spaniards say).
Zaragoza, Spain vholmes09... Obviously the skill for the matadors etc is in evading the bull as efficiently and nonchalantly as possible, but you do have to wonder about the intelligence of the foe and whether the contest is a fair one that justifies the cruelty of it. I'm no great animal lover, but it does seem a bit excessive, considering they murder around six or seven bulls each time and, obviously, the bull has no say in it and no chance of winning. But who am I to question a part ...
