... in the same direction, and they lead me there. It's very similar to Highgate in London but there are millions of cats living in this one...
I had originally also planned to head up to Palermo (home or most of BA's parks) to do a bit of marathon training but it never happened... Same as it never happened on Copacabana beach...
Oh yes, I also went to a bar for happy hour on my first night in BA... That's all I have to say about that.
... and that is soccer! Or football, as they say here.
OK, it's been 2 days since the last update. Thursday didn't quite go as planned. We wanted to go shopping but both Amy and I felt like resting instead. The Uruguay trip the day before took a lot out of us. I had planned for extra time in BA anyway, so we figured we should just take advantage of it while we can. The hotels after this one won't be quite so nice so let's enjoy the luxury while it's here. So ...
... the money is en route to Seb - but only after seeing e-mails and proof and even then we can't be sure. It feels a bit like a witch hunt but quite frankly I don't like her so don't care. I serve her, Helen serves here - Jerome served her earlier.....it is left with her going her own way. We say goodbye to Emma and Elaine in the Red Bells Saloon and then more sadly to amazing Anita - one the nicest people I've ever met along with Michelle her side kick.

... bite and walking around the San Telmo neighborhood where <Iīm staying I figured on catching an empanada or something otherwise small to curb early hunger. Nothing was open yet. Really pretty much nothing. I had heard BA is very laid back and everything gets started late but still, not even a cafe? īTalkedī to some old lady who had a good laugh at my desire to eat a cheese empanada, i think she said laterī although i didnīt really ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina danbdan... Since I am now writing from my apartment, I did manage it :) The bus was great--very cushy. Better than most planes I have been on. La Plata was a disappointment. Its claim to fame is that it was so carefully planned in the late 1800's, after Buenos Aires became the national capital and the province needed it's own. Apparently Jules Verne gave the city a medal for urban design at the Paris World's Fair. The city does have nice ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina beglisc... to come. And, yes, I'm continuing to process Kenya (and 'borrow' photos from my cousins on the trip)... But right now, I'm a little down. Nothing big, no real "reason" if you will: No, just a lot of silly things-- like a big mix-up with Duke and the class payment fee; and missing my landlord's calls about new roommates; and just my ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina sedebrouillier... or not, barter with the owners for 10 minutes, make sure you, and the owner are doing a lot of pointing at the guests mixed with excited chatter in Spanish, and then buy a full bottle of vodka so you can get a bracelet strapped to your rist, offering restricted ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina benandlindsey... Engineering School, and the huge 'Floralis Generica' (a metalic flower that opens its petals at sunrises and closes them at dawn!). On our final day in Buenos Aires, we visited the working class dockland district, La Boca, known for its colourful houses. We also visited La Bombonera, the home of world famous football team Boca Junious. We saw the pitch and their museum, and to be honest I didn't think much of it, so I ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina iwanllyrevansWe have been in Buenos Aires for 3 days now. It is about 30 degrees C :o) We have our own appartment which although quite compact is very comfortable. There is a balcony which gets the sun all afternoon - but it is almost too hot to sit out for more than about 10 mins (it's tough but somehow I manage!). We are taking Spanish classes which I am finding quite difficult, the 2nd was today. Although I find it ***********struct sentences it's amazing ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina louiseharris... finally coming up with so many stamps, they won't fit on the postcard! Being a stamp collector, it is sacrilege for me to see franked postage on a letter. Fortunately they had a system which printed the postage on a self-adhesive label with a big Argentinean flag printed on it. I had to accept this as a compromise. At least it was colourful. Fortunately the Brazilians have taken an earlier train, so we are left in peace to enjoy the rest ...
