... when he'd finished. When we did get riding, we had to exit the city via the footpath inside another canal tunnel, that takes the boats from one side of the city to the other. Today's ride was very scenic once again, between the Doubs and the canal, with mountains towering either side. The music festival last night was great. There must have been at least 20 small stages and areas for performers all across the centre ville area, some outside bars, some on street corners, some in the plazas and some in the park. The sound was controlled pretty well as there wasn't much crossover from one to the other. The streets were full of people just meandering along, or gathered at the more popular performers. There was classic rock, hip hop, drums, Elvis, country ...

Even a new electric bike shop had a blues/jazz quartet playing outside the shop. It is also the French capital of watchmaking and has a fascinating Museum of Time that we also toured. We didn't fit in a visit however to the amazing Astronomical Clock (1870) in the cathedral of Saint-Jean.
