We left Sauvignone soon after 09:00 and took the autostrade to Turin and then onwards to Briancon. We stopped at Momtgenevre where relatively fresh snow had been swept for the road into piles on the car park. ... touristy, I finally found an outside front table in a café on a cute square, I ordered salad Lyonnesse, a huge portion, and a carafe d’eau which is a tap water and comes for free. The waitress brought me a basket of bread and olives for free, and all together my dinner was only 10 euro! I was stuffed with all this food. Exercise came next - I had to get back to the hotel across the river and made my way there passing by illuminated Cathedral St. Jean along the way, and a view ...

Taking a train is so easy and so civilized. Show up a few minutes before the train is scheduled to leave and simply validate your ticket. Easy peasy. People getting on at later stops had some issues with seats but generally everyone packed in well. We are only a few minute walk to the train station and with a small back pack and a small roller bag we easily travelled there for our three day excursion to Lyon. The train certainly lulls one to ...
