We enjoyed our stop even though it wasn’t what we were expecting. We have a cute little china cup for our Christmas tree decoration.
We are close to the German border so we use all our Krouns for diesel and leave Czech Republic. It most certainly is a beautiful country along the west side. We passed fields and fields of poppyflower heads. It must have been beautiful when they were all in bloom!
Sitting in the living room of the house that will be 'homebase' for the next few months. Weird to think that this time last week we were just pootling around Sydney doing our thing!
Trip via HongKong was great - 2 nights and two days of shopping overwhelm and yummy food. We managed to cram in quite a bit pulling a marathon 12 hour day seeing the sights. Jarrad had the benefit of my shopping expertise and made some good purchases!
Arrived in Munich on my ...
We took a day trip to this beautiful crystal and spa town. It is noted for its water. People come from all over. It is suppose to help ailments of all kinds. There are several places in town that sell ceramic vases to use to drink from the fountains throughout the city. We strolled around for several ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic tdennissteel... goods everywhere along with cheap Vietnamese electronics etc. The fun was walking and looking but we did get a few treasures also. At the end we had a nice cold yummy Czech beer while the vendors packed up. The stuff they don't feel like packing uo is left behind and it's a free for all so you just rummage thru and take what you want-if you can beat the Gypsies to it! We actually got some of the best stuff this way! Teta Kvyeta took us to the Moser glass ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic polloslibre... to find out that it is no longer in business. We also went to see the famous astrological clock that has a skeleton pulling the bell chimes on the hour (we'll post the video when we return). Celina also had some fun at another sekach (thrift store) and had fried cheese on a bun from a street vendor (and she didn't get sick). Speaking of food, one of our visits in Prague was to my aunt Liba's, who lived through communism as a ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic polloslibre... we are now. We've been staying with a friend of mine from work in Doha. She lives in a little town close to the border with Germany so we had a day of castles and canoeing yesterday and now it's almost time to head to Prague again before we travel to Croatia for a bit of island hopping and fun. Hope you like the pics. It's awesome being on the road again. Enjoy
Cheb, Bohemia, Czech Republic ryanislost... places that have only but fame to save them from oblivion. There's nothing particularly special about it. A small town built at the banks of this river. Hot springs are all over the town, so are older people a lot of Russian crowds. At the end of the winding road by the river, there is the Hotel Pupp, where the latest James Bond movie, casino royal was filmed. Other than that, by 5.00pm the street is empty and only restaurants are open. The scenery is marvelous, the river, the ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic perl... bones of some 4000 people and made chandeliers and other decorations out of the bones. Evidently he had his young children help him out with the sorting. I really really couldn't get out of there fast enough. This ossuary is absolutely creepy. The rest of Kutna Hora was sleepy and half-closed because evidently most things are closed on Mondays, but I did get to see their museum of Alchemy where ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic yowzer215a... After remaining in the water the rose becomes hard and it looks as if it is made of iron.
And get one of those small pots they sell in the souvenir shops and try taste the water!
The pots are designed in such way that it is as if you drink out of a straw.
I would definitely like to visit this place again and probably spend ...
