    We ended up getting to the hotel at about 8 PM, so didn't have time to go back into town for dinner and to see the city. It was a bit of a bugger considering we won't have time tomorrow as we are at CERN all day. Instead, we went next door to a nice Italian place. I had an awesome risotto, and many of the others got other fantastic looking pasta dishes and pizzas.

    Woke up to another beautiful day. Hotel Pavillon had been excellent and a great place to relax for the night. Dinner was a 5 course meal with great wine to celebrate harriet's birthday. See the picture from our room window. It is going to be very difficult leaving here to get on the path again. Such a quaint and modern town.     ... no surprise, we started going downhill but it was less steep and longer than before. After around an hour we reached Les Contamimes, a village. Our hotel is les Christiana and it makes us miss our hotel last night, the washrooms are smelly and small but it's only for 1 night.     ... opps. When we got to the lake, we headed towards the public beach, where I knew from internet research there was a kayak rental outfit. Didn't get far before Kiyana proposed that we just drop our shorts and dive into those crystal clear turquoise lake waters. She chose a great spot, actually, right along the lakeside boulevard. What we had: Escargots in cream, lemon sauce Pork terrine Pike and lobster mousse baked with pastry shell top in cream sauce Pork cheek, butt and foot in onion, artichoke sauce Creme brûlée Chocolate mousse Aperitif 5 fruits schnapps All for €54.
