    ... I walked back into the old town and through all these little alleyways that lead to hidden cafes and tiny bookstores that I had no hope of understanding.
    I walked past three icecream stores that between them probably had over 80 flavours. Too many even for me.

    Breakfast in room, picked up our tickets from the train station and changed some money from CHF to Euro. Walked to lake Geneva, took a boat ride on the lake - very cold out on the lake. Lunch at Burette Les Bains, a hidden gem on Lake Geneva. Walked to Old Geneva Town then back to our room for a ...

    ... place was packed, as it offered everything from food to clothing and jewelry. The market was set on the canal overlooking the prison, one of the most photographed sites in Annecy. It was a prison from the middle ages, and was used again during World War II, but now houses a museum. It's truly beautiful during the day or night. After the market we had lunch at a Belgian cafe...I swear France has such an appreciation for Belgian ...

    ... sense of culture.

    During the night I woke up at 3am with such a sore throat and struggled to get back to sleep. Eventually I did and as soon as I woke up I was faced with a full blown cold - great! I had gone 7 weeks without getting sick and it just had to happen now. I tried not to let it get me down as we were planning to head to Chamonix and go up Aiguille du Midi!
