It's not how I remember it but then I was on the outskirts and working. I like it more now and wandered through a couple of small parks earlier that were once again busy with people from all walks going about their ...

We spent two days with Ewen's friend John Phillpott and his German partner, Jutte Rinke. They live in a beautiful, leafy suburb and have a delightful home set in a secluded garden. Tonight we are off to dinner with an old mate of Chris' who now lives here.

... the station was this humungous Gothic Cathedral. The Cologne Cathedral. It’s a 144.5m long by 86.5m wide and 157m tall Catholic Church that was built in 1248 and it’s a world heritage site. It was a pretty magnificent building. Our necks are still a bit sore from looking up at it! It’s supposed to be the largest Gothic Church in Northern Europe and we were glad we stopped in and saw that, definitely made a good break from the train. ...
