Wounded soldiers today so the planned ride to Trebic has been axed and we have decided to have a restful day, do a few jobs and start preparing for the Danube cruise. Today the temperature has dropped to a chilly 18 degrees. Gill is rather grumpy as her neck is stiff, swollen and itches! At lunchtime there was an announcement on the village speakers (which we couldn't understand) and the fighter planes is back! The early rain turned into sunny spells, but ...

... be a little concerned about whether they complied with safety standards. A quick stop at Tesco for an ice cream to cool us down and more water as even Captain Tone was feeling dehydrated in today's high temperatures. We set off homeward but after just a few kilometres as we were descending at speed into a pretty village on a lake, Stoker (Gill) collided with a very large bug! "Stop! Stop! I've been stung!" ...

... When we reached Telc we visited their Tesco. The majority of the food is obviously sourced locally and so what you purchase can still be guess work but hopefully the coleslaw won't have herring in it this time.! Also the lady in the familiar red Tesco tee shirt was not very interested or helpful when I showed her a kinder egg and tried to explain by flapping my arms like a chicken that I was looking for real ...

We love this resort so much that we decided to stay another day and night. The photos of Pocatky were taken from a 16th. century bell tower. We were inside at 12 noon but the bells didn't ring. Thank goodness.

Photo of the time keeper's "nest" are included.

    We both had massages today.

The prettiest town I've ever stayed in.

... stopped literally in the middle of nowhere (Kotolec U Jihlavy) to wait an hour for the connecting train to Telc.

We could hardly believe it when we stepped off the train at KUJ - there was only the train station, 6 dusty gravel platforms and a waiting room (60's design with formica tables) and that was it. No food, no town in sight, we were wondering if our journey to Telc was to the end of the Czech Republic.

    Regardless, our next ...
