        ... New Street, Birmingham. Seeing his photograph and an original German edition of his book was a bit of a goose bump moment, it has to be said.
        A slight air of stunned melancholy was lifted by a pleasant conversation with a lady outside the castle, who seemed thrilled by our common humanity despite our different nationalities.         A short walk to the bridge thereafter, a sign in a bar confirming no liquor with more than 20% is available. That put a damper into the idea of a nightcap. Some went out but I returned for the diary and blog c 2130, Don also eschewing more drinking [he says he d/n drink at home]. We were both bad at trying to recall all the names of people, yours truly the worst.

        Bed by 2300, hopefully a good night's sleep ahead.

        ... a quick stroll to try and plan out our next day. We stopped at a restaurant called 12 Degrees where I had some fantastic roast rabbit with cabbage salad but Shana was a little disappointed with what she thought was going to be cuts of beef and vegetables and ended up with a greek style kebab which sort of looks like everything that you shouldn't eat.         ... me quite a bit of Wisconsin with rolling hills and agriculture everywhere. The road we took wasn’t too crowded and we could drive slowly and enjoy the view. An accident blocked the road at one point but our faithful GPS allowed us to navigate around the problem easily. That little piece of technology has saved us hours of time finding our way.
