... It's just small and darky and dingy with only a tiny common area. We went out for dinner and I guided him through the dark and sketchy looking streets of La Ceiba to a little restauraunt I went to last time I came here. Had a good little meal, but on the way back we were being followed but a reaaally sketchy dude and getting some harassment so that wasn't exactly fun. Safely back at the hostel we played some cards but were both pretty tired. I have no idea why I should be tired though ...

... in, given the weather gets a bit better. So far we have walked the one main street on the island, it seems alright but instantly doesn't have that really relaxed feel like the islands in Mexico or Belize.
Some of the small food stands and restaurants do pretty good, cheap food. We have been indulging in a Honduran specialty known as Baliadas. They are really big tortillas the size of a small pizza, fried up and folded over with your choice of stuffing ...

... from San P to la Ceiba (a larger “city” near Sambo Creek) and then a local bus from Ceiba to Sambo Creek. Our hotel had a pool, hot water, and air conditioning, a rare combination here in Honduras, and it was such a treat to take hot showers and sleep in the AC.
