... the neighborhood. The hostel is in a quiet suburb of San Jose and it was no problem walking around. Our biggest problem was not buying out the store because we would have to carry it all onward to Montezuma and our bags were quite full.

Had ourselves a fine dinner..........chef salad with chicken and hearts of palm and a glass of wine. Ventured up the stairs to the balcony for a fine view of the city as the sun was going down.

... We got out and dumped our life jackets and helmets in the large bags and climbed into our transfer to head to our lunch spot. ... the upwards trek began. The highlight of which was the spotting of some resplendent Quetzals, the original reason Monteverde attracted the attention of tourists.
