... do a 100 or so km detour!! I was furious to say the least. Why don't they put up a dead end sign at the beginning of the road 50km back instead of at the last few km???

While I was parked up here at the pass indication sign two chaps in a car came up and were also rather taken back that both passes were closed and so they decided they were going to chance it and so did I!!

Off up the pass road I headed. The sun was shining high by now and it was almost like a ...

... landscape photos were fairly useless. The Italian inspired tuna pasta was a huge success, but I STILL had the munchies, so followed it up with a banana, nutella, mixed nuts, raisins & condensed milk mush. ... teams all around the world, and he told me he'd like to add the Liechtensten one to his collection. I ask where I can find one. "At the post office" someone suggests. A football jersey... at the post office? Yep. Here I discover another secret to Liechtenstein's success (besides helping people cheat on their taxes!): Efficiency. See, in America, the postal system has been losing millions for decades. But who cares? It's America! We have money to ...

    1710. Up the Mountainside

Day 279 2 hrs, 5 kms Way up above the steep mountainside, through the mist I can see houses clinging to the slopes. That is the separate town of Treisenburg. It's going to be a long climb, but I figure if I pass this up I might really regret it later. So I follow the winding road up the mountain, passing kids heading to their first day of school. I notice that there are some kids of ...
