... a couple in a van that looked as if they were going to stop there, they must be crazy. We snaked our way down, passing people out skiing, sledging and using a large kite to pull them on a ski board, we don't know the correct name for this activity! The parking place we had chosen was in a small forested area, there was just a small amount of snow on the ground and it was a few degrees warmer than at the pass. After tea we made plans for ...

  • Afterwards I caught the bus back to the train station, grabbed my backpack which was still there (small sigh ...

... as far as my legs would take me before having to stop and ask for some directions from some locals. Through our stunted anglo-italian conversation I learned that the Primadengo campsite was "sempre". It no longer existed.

Miffed that I had wasted more energy that I didn’t have, I headed back to Chiggiogna, though the campsite was nice enough and had a restaurant bar on site. However, with low cloud settling over ...

... But in Liechtenstein, as in San Marino, people know that they've got to run their country efficiently or it will simply crumble and fall apart and become a vassal to its debtors. So if the post office no longer can make money just by selling stamps? You turn it into a multi-purpose store! souvenirs! football jerseys! office supplies! Whatever you have to do to make it run efficiently. Maybe us big countries could learn a thing or two from countries like ...
