... It seemed rude not to as Margarita is so named for its pearls and has been described as the jewel of the Caribbean. Mind you I think all the islands are claiming that title.

Erica our guide was very informative about the history of the island and pointed out the profile of the mountain which she said looked like the Indian Chief who once ruled the island. She also pointed out two smaller islands which resembled a ...

until pursued by some salesboy from a nearby establishment – don’t they realise
this sort of behaviour is only going to persuade me never to go!

Had a swim & found a convenient palm tree to dry off

Checked out the not so supermarket that opens on a Monday –
didn’t even sell coffee!!!! But the beer was 3 for a dollar, so who cares about
      the coffee!

The water was lovely and not too lumpy, despite the wind,
for swimming. Strolling from the hotel along the beach was more challenging as

... likely lad, as seemed to be the case this time – he certainly tried in on in regards of the price, which I agreed before getting in, not knowing the airport was less than 2 miles away. Then he tried to suggest he could meet me in South America as a woman would enjoy her travels much more with a man for company!!

Conviasa came up trumps and got me safely (despite the hideous cheese roll "snack" on the plane) and even early!
