... he was eager to learn. Dusan our pool man booked dinner for us under his name at a local restaurant in the next village Piran, organised bikes for us to ride there and made sure we were charged local prices. Oh and did I say the A/C in the room works a treat.

I am so glad we moved otherwise my perception of Slovenia and its people would have been totally different. It went from rude and arrogant to happy and friendly.

We tell an English couple buying from him about our recent experience and the vendor pipes up “He is not a good man – for €10 you can have…” and gestures to his whole van. We buy a lemon to share; we have heard the lemons from here are sweet enough to eat, and the man peels it for us to eat there and then. ... thru 4 tunnels and into Pompeii. Guided 2 hour walking tour of the ruins of Pompeii city destroyed by Mt Vesuvius eruption in Oct 79 AD. Wow in tour only covered about 20% of city as so massive. Had population of 15,000 thousand people within city walls and sea came right to city walls. The sea around 10 km away now. Amazed once again at roman technology. Visited Cameo making ...
