    No hurry to go ashore, must have been around 11am. Tendered in the lifeboats today. Caught the tourist bus, again excellent value for 1.5hrs, €10ea. The commentary was not very informative, brief, and hard to hear, but the sights, the BEACHES, were gorgeous. The cemetery was something else entirely, 45,000 graves - we thought it smelt too! Sort of road killish and when we came back around past it again, ...

    ... unbeknown to birthday boy, .........Alain the Chef had baked a birthday. cake (chocolate torte) and organised a barbecue on top deck of the boat for a celebration dinner party.
    We all dressed up, Kevin with his new shirt,had a wow of time!!! With our barbecue chicken skewers, steak, we had potato rosti and
    Desert......out came the birthday cake!!!!!! We asked the crew to join us for dessert.

    ... and Queens!! And gone out of their way to make every moment pleasurable. Even when we are swimming, Glen is down on the board on watch...just in case us "oldies" get into trouble In the deep water, .....the life ring is always put out!!!!

    ... seller looked ecstatic as he then asked "aaaaah tu parlez francais??!" I hurriedly told him that I only spoke a little but it was too late....he was off, chattering away, holding up the shawl sideways and pointing to it and then turning it over, still chatting away and pointing. I still don't have a clue what he was saying but still....we bought the shawl. O-o

    I think my accent is what causes the locals to believe I speak ...

    ... open sea! Consuming all our water as well as purchasing more drinks, we decided to retreat to the air conditioned comfort of our home away from home and have a late lunch.
