... unbeknown to birthday boy, .........Alain the Chef had baked a birthday. cake (chocolate torte) and organised a barbecue on top deck of the boat for a celebration dinner party.

Desert......out came the birthday cake!!!!!! We asked the crew to join us for dessert.
Left the Port of Propriano at 11am and sailed North up the coast of Corsico (still French )
and anchored on the way up to stop for a swim and lunch.
Beautiful water for swimming and very relaxing. No skiing though not today!!!
Sailed for about an hour and Arrived in the city of Ajaccio at 6pm.

Once the coach trip was over we headed out on foot into the city again. Some of the streets were built on deep slopes which added to the quaint appeal of this place. It was nice to slip off into one of the more shaded side streets to escape the sun and also to explore some of the local merchandise. David and Gary both found Corsican Whisky which they bought. Barbara found a nice shawl and I bought a new .......dress!!! yes a ...
... vanilla custard. I have no room left for this bountiful fare! Then, suitcase out of the room by 11:00pm and sweet dreams until the morning when we leave this magnificent 6 star floating hotel. I could never have imagined just how amazing this cruise has been - in every way! It has been way way over the top and I am so grateful to John and Melinda for their invitation to join them on this trip. Thank you Lord (and J & M) ...
This was the one and only day where we didn't stop off at any port. We certainly made the most of it :) A sleep in, a late breakfast on the terrace of the Collonade and then a massage for Libby @ 10:00.
