... br> It had begun drizzling as we arrived in the jewish area and now it was definitely time to resort to the umbrella and join in the sports of umbrella fencing and jousting as we entered back into the streets of the masses of tourists.
We were back in the square to try and get into the Bascillica which had crazy queues the last time we were there. Today it was long, but not as long and moving well so we too join the queue hiding under the 'brolllie'.

... We eventually found our way to the general population of travelers where there were a few shops and bistros and felt more like normal civilization.
We bought a few things, had a pretzel and coke then made our way to the gate for Venice.

... was a truly lovely merchant churct. It is one of the Chorus Church near the old docks. I could not help but wonder how it would be to start your day of work at mass at such a place. It was a grand and beautiful church that would truly help remind you that your work was God's work no matter what your trade.

... to do then was to get checked in and have a nice cold shower and relax a little before we done some site seeing. The receptionist told us that our room wasn't ready just yet so we had to come back in an hour. We thought that was the case because despite trekking all over Venice to find the hotel we knew check in was at 2pm.
After spending an hour looking around the local area we headed back to check in. When we got back to the hotel the manager was ...
... we saw an amazing demonstration of sculpting from blown glass. The way the artist could make a horse from a ball of glass was amazing, and quick! The whole process took under 10 minutes. We were then taken to the factory store and encouraged to buy pieces of glass art. Yes, it was irresistible and we bought some nice beads for Dawn's Pandora bracelet and a wine stopper...it could have been much worse...many pieces there were thousands ...
