    ... and sight seeing. Found a museum which turned out to be the Naval Museum of Venezia. There were navigation items in this museum dating back to 1210 and still in pristine condition.

    Picked up at 2:30pm by yet another water taxi and taken to Burano Island "Island of the Fisherman"

    ... so skinny and even packed with tourists in November. Anyway, Venice is absolutely stunning and it is everything I hoped it would be. Tiny canals and streets lead to beautiful squares.     An early start today, 7.15am in the coach and on the road again travelling into the mountain ranges that surround the massive St Gotthard from Lucerne to Lugano passing through the 17klms long Gotthard Tunnel still enjoying the wonderful Alpine scenery.     ... underestimated how many people would be around creating obstacles in our path. I knew that Venice was a popular tourist destination but I couldn't believe the sheer quantity of people that were filling the streets.     After lunch, I parted ways to go to Gallerie dell'Accademia di Venezia (art museum, sadly closed) and another popular tourist spot called Academia Bridge.
