      ... many antiques (Madelyn accidentally already tore a knob off the dresser!) We are squeezed into one room with three twin beds, a big bed, aforementioned antique dresser with matching night stands (not your typical Marriott furniture) and yippee-- and American sized shower.       ... in the shop windows and just enjoying all the buildings in Venice. Back to Calle dei Preti to rest and then fix another fine meal.

      While fixing dinner, get to watch the comings and goings on the bridge. From my point of view, this is the beginning of the narrow winding streets of Venice and people stop to get their bearings, take a selfie or eat a piece of pizza from the vendor on the other side of the bridge.

      ... with aromatic herbs, sautéed local clams with ginger, anchovies marinated with Salina caper cream, sardines marinated with onions and vinegar, stuffed squid, amongst other things followed by fried soft shell crab which Battery Boy had to chase around the plate to get into his mouth.

      They had a wonderful time discussing wines with the sommelier before wandering back to their hotel just before midnight.

      ... at the tourist town of Split, Croatia. Split differs slightly from Korcula in that there are a smattering of more recent buildings which don't conform to the general appearance of the town. There's a sprawling touristy waterfront nicely landscaped in a modern design with plenty of seating - something lacking in this part of the world where the only seating is at an outdoor restaurant and you are obliged to buy a coffee, which has a surcharge of €0.50 for the seat. ...
