Lie in to compensate for our early start yesterday and late breakfast (cold meats, cheeses and yoghurt) before catching the public bus to Ravello, a town in the hills. We decided not to use the car as parking is a huge problem. Being in a bus negotiating hairpin bends gets the adrenalin going but hats off to the coach drivers who I think must have passed ...

Porta d'Alba Book Market - buy and sell used books between the Alba gate (near Piazza Dante on Via Toledo) and Piazza Bellini (near the Archeological Museum); roughly normal shopping hours. Fuorigrotta Market - M-Sat 9-2. ...

... they needed fresh air, and they believed religious buildings would be untouched by bombs. Our tour took us through only one square kilometre of the extensive maze that stretches bigger than the city of Naples itself. Along the way, we got to see relics of the war, a replication of the wells what would have been there, and we also got to walk though super tiny, very long tunnels, guided by candles that we had to hold out in front of us! It was amazing, we also got the opportunity ...
