... to stay awake so we are tired for the overnight bus to Belize. We get back to playa and head back to hostel to pack our stuff up before leaving and notice again that the hostel people have not even left the hostel despite having big Christmas Day plans of heading out for lunch to the local cenotes. ... into our place, the Riviera Maya Suites, near the beach about a mile north of the main touristy square. It didn't take long to realize that our first (and most recurring) priority was finding something for Carmen to eat that was both healthy and acceptable. Closest was a Mega Comercial Mexicana. While Graham headed off to dive three cenotes (sinkholes) I spent the day getting a massage, shopping, cocktails by the pool(of course) and just enjoying the Mexican vibe.

Graham came back to the hotel tired but happy after what he described as the best diving he has ever done.

In Mexico the plan is to head from Tulum to Valladolid visiting Chichen Itza and continuing to Merida, Campeche, Palenque and San Cristobal de las Casas from where we will head to Guatemala. Easter is approaching fast as well and we need to remember to keep it in mind in terms of planning the route as some places get incredibly busy (and more expensive) during the Semana Santa.

Any good tips are of course always welcome! ...
