Early start this morning to travel to Teplice Nad Metují after a tram, a train, a bus, a train, & then another train 4 hours later we were there. It's a tiny little town with about 4 or 5 houses, surrounded by forest. In the forest are a whole lot of odd shaped sandstone formations. A million years ago this whole area was covered in ocean, & the unusual looking rocks were formed as the sea ...

... meeting each other over there, however, we believe that it must have looked like if a lot of red ants are coming back to the anthill :) Even though everybody had to climb with his bike pushing it up to the hill since it wasn´t possible to ride it (the surface was too steep and slippery), it seemed that our way was the worst :)

Another 100m hike up a steep, rocky path and we arrived at a wooden viewpoint tower where we took some good photos and had a breather, as well as a short chat with a German ...

... They are still discovering new parts to the cave system and have very recently found a cavern the size of the National Stadium. They are hoping to create public access for next year, but apparently this is on the Czech Republic side to the cave system and they are negotiating how they will share the entrance prices and the access responsibilities. If they do open it, we heard it will be the largest cavern in Poland open to the public. You can also partake in a ...

A restored lime kiln in Kletno

Clear skies and bright sunshine for the first time in a week! Lucy and I slipped out at 8am for a 4km run past the reservoir and dam to loosen up for the day, followed by an unusually healthy breakfast of fruit and corn flakes (so far this holiday we've eaten a lot of meat and cheese which is not helping energy levels or body shape!).

We spent today lazing in the garden and had a quick drive out to an old lime ...
