    Tuesday 23 June
    We wanted to take advantage of the wind so left Motril fairly early in the morning. The
    wind was quite strong – at times blowing F6 but at least on the bum. Got some pretty good sailing and surfing in at times as the swell picked up to around 1.5m.

    On the way I saw 2 whales and we had a few dolphins play with the bow wave for a short

    We visited a good crag out at Elda which faces south east which meant we could get out there at about 4pm and climb in the shade until it got dark.

    The coastal area also has a number of salt marshes and bird reserves. Managed to see some different birds including a Glossy Ibis and Whiskered Turn but was too hot and the wrong time of year to see much more.
