... side of the island had a rock feature that looked like a pachyderm, and one that looked like the Virgin Mary. ( I need to take that as a sign) We sailed through the Arch of Love and, of course, shared a kiss. (sounds better in Italian). Once back safely at the hotel, we enjoyed a cocktail on our balcony, took a shower and then took the hotel shuttle to Sorrento. There we shopped a little and had a couple of drinks and a light dinner. Good night! Tomorrow, the Footpath of the ...

... garbage bags were filling the bus quite nicely. Never mind we were on! We got off at the plaza near the station and checked in relieved to find our luggage still there. Richard went down to buy himself an ice cream and was reminded of there no eating anything in the rooms except room service items. We thought this was a bit much as it was late at night and the foyer shop was closing. Where was he supposed to eat it - on the footpath outside. He just walked ...

Today started off early for Meredith and I, and not because Italy starts early and woke us up. No, unfortunately jetlag was playing it's little games and 5am became the new 7am. Still, I took the advantage of the extra time and went for a short run around the narrow streets of Amalfi. I little daunting as you don't know what's coming around the corner, and with no footpaths you sort of take your own life in your hands. Still I got some ...

... village high above Capri. Somehow I end up in a window seat on the sea side- I thought the roads along the Amalfi Coast were narrow, but this is even more narrow. The road is two way and there are a couple of times when I understand why they call this the "Mama Mia" road! Mama Mia- we were right on the edge of the road and there was nothing except a straight drop to the sea below! Anacapri is a smaller, quieter village than Capri and again there are ...

... ll post so you can enjoy it too! Talk about hundreds of Kodak moments from the top! Instead of taking the lift down, we hike the one hour trail down. There is a church and cemetery we pass on the way down. It's quiet with the occasional hikers and residents living along the trail. Just what the doctor ordered plus we are going down, not up! Much easier than the hikes in the Cinque Terre! Anacapri is so precious! Clean brick walkways through the ...
