This was the first birthday in my life I was spending alone so I wanted to take myself to a beautiful, special place. Baños de Agua Santa. Becky and Tom talked about this place and I read up on it online. it sounded like a great place to spend a few days. The town looked a bit touristy so, I booked a place 6 Kms up the mountain to a town called RunTun. It was a farming community of approx 40 family farms. They mostly grow, babaco papayas, ...

Basically it was really **** weather so the rain turned the sand on the streets to muck! Everytime we left the hostel we got so dirty! I think if the sun was shining it would have ...

settling into school and making new friends. Along with that I have been
traveling a bit. In the beginning of this month, we went to Montanitas. It is a
small town where my host dad owns a hotel and restaurant. There are lots of
artisans along the street selling handmade crafts or food. Everything is super
cheap and negotiable.

I also went to Guayaquil, one of the biggest cities ...

... hour ride only costs $3.70. Buses are a pretty cheep way to get around at average of $1 per hour of ride.

Baņos (de Agua Santa) is a small city in the Andean highlands of Ecuador under the smoke of volcano Tungurahua. Its name, which is Spanish for "Baths (of sacred water)," comes from the famous hydrothermal springs in the area. It's equally popular with foreigners as with Ecuadorians, and is known as the adventure capital of Ecuador. The streets are lined with ...
