... admitted he didn't know the street.

    Then he shook his head.

He asked if I had it written down, so I showed him my notebook.

I knew it was right as it was also listed in the Lonely Planet guidebook. We set off up the hill again and he eventually found the street. The problem was I didn't have a house number, so in theory this street could stretch right across the town. The driver stopped at a hotel and they gave him the correct directions. ...

... of Papusa stands. Since I'm not in love with Papusas like the Salvadorians, I opt for a chicken and vegetable dish. They tell me these are free range chickens. They are a little chewer, but have a good flavor and they were happy until the end!! Sara and Damian ordered several different Papusas and gave me a little of each to try. Today was much like yesterday. Out of bed and breakfast to start. Like the start of almost everyday saying that! I wasn't too hungry so I opted for a fruit smoothie instead. Looking a proper surfer dude now wearing Volcom, shame it cost twice the price of a room and that was with $5 ...

El cheapo travel in El Salvador, but be warned!

... Sometimes the buses are a little worse for wear - extremely rusted so you can see the road whiz by beneath your feet, cushioning deteriorated so just bare metal seats with torn sharp edges (don't cut yourself so you need a tetanus shot!), crazy drivers that speed and barely stop the bus moving for passenger drop off, and so crowded that you can barely breathe.....this is all part of the experience though, so enjoy it. Chicken bus travel is cheap for a reason!

    To San Salvador, El Salvador

... two hours we had reached the border with El Salvador. Again, a lot of form filling etc. but still peanuts compared to Costa Rica. Never try to import your car into Costa Rica ;-) We can laugh about it now, but it was no joke at the time! The drive to San Salvador was beautiful and fairly uneventful. Here we stayed overnight and departed early next morning for Antigua, ...
