... and we stand blinded wondering who we'll meet next. It's more army guys! They shake my hand and tell me it's dangerous for us to be here in the night. We accept the offer of help and they drive us back to the place we had just come from which turns out to be a coffee plantation. After some ridiculously sweet coffee we sit in the office with coffee pickers, armed guards and army guys surrounding us and try to use their phone to call Miguel. No joy on that front ...

... ungodly hour of 2 am! There's so much to see in there and we already feel strapped for time. That coupled with feeling like we can't go out at night here made it an easy decision. But it is sad to only see such a small amount of El Salvador. The people here have been so welcoming and friendly and patient with our inability to communicate effectively. But I suspect El Salvador will be the next Nicaragua (which is the next Costa Rica) etc etc. So here's to Nicaragua! Cheers ...
