... You could see huge military parades taking place here. It was that type of square. Most of the pedestrianised route was a little shabby looking - if you were expecting boutiques and fancy restaurants, they must be elsewhere. Probably somewhere down in zone ten. Having enough of exploring the city for the day, I headed back over to the hostel as I definitely did not want to be out after dark.

Vampires are one thing. Inner city social issues another. You ...

... here for some of the best surfing in the world, according to them. It's a funky little place that doesn't have much to offer if you're not a surfer! Our last stop is a beach with a wonderful hotel and restaurant. It's a little pricier than some of the places that we've gone, but it will be worth it! ... I walked to the city centre, I should point out thatin El Salvador you are expected to pay your first night's stay and then they come and knock on your door the next day expecting the next day's payment. You can ask to wait another day before settling though. Anyway, I got some cash out and went to the Palacio Nacional. The building is awe inspiring in parts, although some rooms are in a derelict state. Then, I went to the internet cafe and wrote this.

    Week 3

... more than ever on the language. Those I don't mention are not due to lack of achievement but more because my hand hurts (that's right, I have a blister from a machete). On the whole work week 3 (week 4 of being in country) has been pretty loved up! Were in the fantastic honeymoon phase of our group friendship- long may it reign. The first few weeks I liked the country and coped with the heat, flies, latrines and my sudden incoherence. Now I ...
