OMG! George Clooney got married!!!!! I didn't even get an invite! We were at San Marco just after he toured the grand canal !!! I can't believe we missed seeing him. George Clooney is my favourite actor! Maybe our invite got lost in the mail??!? We decided to head off on foot today to try and find Rialto. One of the many 'must see' parts of Venice! Our 45min. walk took over an hour- which did not phase us in the least as we are intrepid explorers!!! Plus ...

Today was a sightseeing day. Lots of walking, lots of stairs and lots and lots of people. One of our main objectives for today was to get to the Rialto Bridge. It's a large bridge that crosses the canal and has great views of the city. It's a very popular place for photos. We also saw the Bridge of Sighs which has beautiful architecture. We had lunch at one of the open air cafes at St. Mark's Square. We wanted ...

It is also the place where a local saint, also called Guido had been the abbot. I was very pleased I got the chance to look around. For lunch I grabbed a punnet of strawberries back at ...

    A different World

As you walk out of the train station you are met with the ground canal, instantly you feel like you are in another world, a world without cars, where the only way to move around is either by boat or on foot. We immediately made our way onto the closest bridge and had a photo, I was awestruck by the beauty.

The hostel check in was just on the other side of the canal so I headed over there to check in and then ...

    Venice does not disapoint....

We took an early Ryanair flight from Barcelona El Prat airport to Venice/Treviso airport (you have to take a 10 Euro bus into Venice) and we didn't really have any problems. As long as you realize that Ryanair is a discount airline, and some people will make some pretty crazy lines, and you don't get anything else for free (what else can you expect for a 25 or 30 USD flight), it works great! We got there as promised in a very cheap ...
