... of. We really enjoyed the tour, much more than the Palace itself, I think we're a bit over artwork, palaces and castles, but most especially we are SO OVER crowds. You might be wondering why this entry is called 'the kindness of strangers'. We had our Venice map out looking for a way to get to the ferry to visit Murano and this very kind man showed as where to go - literally. He took us to where we needed to be (he was on his way shopping) and as we walked ...

... and English. Wow! We watched a movie in French. I liked listening to the French language again. The food was always available. Buffets in the morning and at lunch. Lots of pizza any time of the day. The cruise ship was approximately as big as 70 elephants (that's 5 metres long for each elephant) in length, and it was 13 levels high, that's about as high as the FMG building, the glass one in the Square. It was ...

Was amazing to watch the hot glass being formed into something a lot like a conical flask from the bio labs at uni. Walked around the island ...

... cathedral in the square. Went for a romantic ride on a gondola around the canals of Venice while being serenaded they sang 'its amora' and I thought of the movie Moonstruck it was so romantic I couldn't stop crying. Then we cruised around the lagoon and stopped at Bruno Island for lunch it was a beautiful village with different colour ...

      Pistachio and lemon ice cream.

... the one who's pigeon flies away first (hours of fun!). The tower reportedly toppled over into the square back in 1902 so we thought it would be best if we came down.

Whenever you're in Italy a gelato is a neccesity. Therefore we had no choice but to call at the Gelateria "Il Penguino" for a quick sample before the afternoon drew to a close. Don't listen to El - pistachio and lemon is a perfectly acceptable combination of flavours!
