... ball had dents in it and that made it really erratic. Not the best for trying to beat your opponent. We had to be ready for dinner at 5:45 so it seemed like a very short day to us. Tried to change our dinner time to the later seating but the later seating is fully booked. There is a large group of doctors from everywhere onboard with their families. Over 300 children, 125 of them teenagers aboard. So far not many teens are showing up at the Loft. But ...

We arrived at Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, a minor basilica completed in 1687 as a church dedicated the the Virgin Mary and her health in order to deliver Venice from the plague. The Salute is a vast, octagonal building built on a platform made of 100,000 wooden piles. It is constructed of Istrian stone and marmorino and is filled with Marian symbolism. ... This was a shame; as it has an amazing mosaic of the last judgment on the front wall, so once again, if you want to see it, go to Torcello. Unfortunately the old bell tower of the church is undergoing major refurbishment, so we couldn’t go up. This was disappointing because it apparently offers great views of the lagoon. Oh well.
