... saw that we could take number 7 around the other way to San Marco, so we did that. It was a nice and scenic ride and we even got seats! We got off at San Marco, and well, this area was not the charming Venice we had been experiencing. It was super crazy crowded with tourists, vending stands, etc.... We did go ahead and pass through though, and decided to walk the rest of the way to see some more stuff instead of changing boats to go the rest of the way. There are ...

I managed to find a way out there, and just as I made my way across the street, a pair of runners went by in the same direction going roughly the same speed. I spend the rest of the day wandering around the less touristy areas around the Academia, stopping for a pizza lunch (and a quick sit down) and then wander back across to the Rialto area, but again keep to the less touristy areas. I also do a bit of shopping, not sure if I'll be able to get my case closed now but I guess I'll have ...

When I heard about Venice and about how they don't use any cars I didn't believe it because I always thought that everyone needs a car, at least to get around. To my surprise it was actually true, getting off the train I thought that we were going to have to use a taxi to get to the hotel, but as we were exiting the station the first thing we saw was boats. We had to take a Taxi boat to our hotel because that was the only way we could get ...

... was about a block from Rialto Bridge. It took about 10 minutes to walk there with a detailed street map. After dinner we walked over to Marco plaza for some gelato. So many pigeons there. Disgusting! We were all so tired so we walked a bit and then went back to hotel. I was up 30 hours so I fell asleep at 7:30pm Venice time. Slept about 4-5 and now I'm wide awake. Body all out of ...
