    ... I have to say that the masks that I purchased when I was here 20 years ago are so much nicer than all the very "showy" masks on sale today. I don't know if I was just lucky to find the beautiful hand painted masks back then or if the clientele has changed.     Our first full day in Venezia and so far we are loving it. I did have fond memories of Venezia, so I'm pleased that it has not let me down and that Slasher is loving it too. He is going to come back here to write his book - write in the morning and people watch in the piazzas in the afternoons! Not sure what the book will be about just yet.
