... be a separate country. The bad news is I still don’t know anything about it. I went there alright but after 2 hours of traffic madness in 34 degree heat and finding absolutely nowhere to park the van my stress levels were near critical so I gave up and drove back out. They actually have border crossings too which is the first time I’ve encountered that on this trip. I managed to try and drive off before I should have coming back into Spain which resulted ...

This will be a fairly short entry since Peter and I cycled by ourselves today. Barry had proposed an alternate rout which was taken by Werner, Barry, Steve, Gilles, Don, Sue, Peter and I. Not sure where mark went although Peter and I did see him later. Tom, Linda, Dave, Michael, Wayne, Lori and Mesfin did the nominal. There was a sign announcing a road closure at or just past the top of Port de Lers. This was only moderately disconserting, though. We've see road closures before and more ...

In what is turning into a common refrain, last night my legs felt so good - in spite of yesterday's extra travails - that I was taking the stairs 2 at a time, whereas this morning I had definitely lost the spring in my step. Part of the problem might've been due to insufficient sleep, as I had stayed up late to get this blog all caught up (and still missed a few things, like the memorial to ...

Based on the research I had done before we left Ottawa, today was the day I thought would be our toughest (our organizer has given this coming Tuesday's ride that distinction, but I disagree; I guess in 48 hours we'll find out who was right). When I made that assessment I hadn't realized I would end up adding to what I anticipated doing, but that's what happened.

    Given last night's late ...
