Jerez
... We stopped in at a crowded restaurant in the main square called Tio Pepe. We all had the menu of the day, which was paella and beef cooked in sherry. Both were delicious except I didn't make the kids eat the seafood. Unless you know us and how we spend our summers you would 1) never understand and 2) probably never believe my fishing stories anyway. I found the clams a bit on the strong side.

Thanksgiving in Rota
... One of the locals told us the population of the town at this time of year was around 25,000 to 30,000. In the summer, the town swells to nearly 300,000. Many, many people come to enjoy the beaches in the summer.
