... note, there is no possible way to travel and be on a diet at the same time! We caught our train that afternoon and I spent those three hours discussing some of the many complexitites of life with Reid haha.
All in all, I'd have to say that the pace of Cadiz was much slower than the pace of Cordoba, So things are the same in Spain - things just slow down at the beach. It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend - my first traveling venture! Plenty more to come....
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain vneag... to communicate. We were able to watch Flamingo dancing at the center in town as there was a special performance that night and the star was a young man who grew up in Cadiz and Loly and her husband have known as a child. After the show we went to lunch with Sergio and Oscar their sons. Oscar is older and speaks a little English and looks just like Jon Vaglio. Crazy. That morning both sons were at a casting call for a movie to be made with Tom ...
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathers... set up a little ladder so that the mice could drink the sherry out of a wine glass!

Then we went to the horse show. Very similar to what the Lippanzaner Stallions do. It was…an experience…but I don’t think I’ll ever go watch something like that again. But I can at least say that I've seen it.
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands big_red_truck... something to see. After the show we headed to another white village town called Arcos de la Frontera. This was another cobble stoned hillside town set among 2 churches and a convent. We had a nice lunch and walked around the town. The streets were narrow and tiny and mike did a great job of navigating through the narrow roads (he's getting much better)...we left and started our 2.5 hour drive from there to Nerja our destination for the next 7 days ...
Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain stacicheck... farly uneasy to see a million of trains packed with dressed up, stoned and half-conscious people; they were shouting, dancing and staggering on the station, dashing towards the city centre. When our train finally arrived, delayed over 2 hours, it was stinking so much of sweat and alcohol that its windows were steamy and everything was sticky. I considered thanking God for the air-condition that helped to sort it out.

I was back home almost at midnight.
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands translucent... The first thing that hits me is the buildings. White dominos straight up, inches apart. Little windows like a little old ladies eyes crinkled edges but so much they have seen. As walked around the narrow streets it was my first time experiencing the Euro-sidewalk or lack thier off. Thier seems to be no dividion to be continued.....
Rota, Spain psteerenberg... white hoods - a different colour, a different theme every night. Some processions were silent, others were accompanied by brass or percussion. And over everything lurched the enormous religious icons: Jesuses with human hair staggering under ornate, blinged crosses; virgins with mournful porcelain doll faces; other Jesuses in triumphant ascent, dressed in rich purple and without blood or blemish. The statues were surrounded by flowers, ornate lanterns, banks of candles, canopies ...
Rota, Spain philiad... there. It is reallt difficult for me to imagine wanting to be in the military and I could tell that I would probably never fit in there. We talked about how difficult it is to be living overseas as a US citzen and how much worse it is when they learn where you work. They asked me if it surprised me or bothered me and I asked they why it would. I suppose they are used to alot of descrimination and had mentioned that they are pretty isolated. They all hang out in their small group and I ...
Rota, Spain whereshegoes... Spinach and Tofu lasagna. I left the boys to cook up a storm when Evan urged me to go watch the sunset. It was pretty spectacular with the stack of backlit glowing clouds seeming to push the sun under the sea. We ate on the balcony while watching the stars and moon glitter over the ocean. Since I have come to Spain, I have found this curiously large planet that keeps showing up in the beginning of the night. I reasoned that it cannot be ...
