... 2pm and we're all getting hungry, so we drive into the small town, which would have been the size of my palm I swear, and find a small restaurant. We head in and speak Spanish as we figure English is not going to be spoken here. They provide us a menu all in Spanish and John and Jenny ask the waiter if we speaks English, thats a big no. So we laugh together about how we are going to order food we actually like and understand what it is. Jenny and I stuck to something safe and ...

... 2hours later and it is well worth the stop over. It's all cobblestone paved through every little walkway, and is surrounded by dairy farmers so most of the shops are full off cheeses, chocolate and cured meats... My kind of store! Last observation is that everyone gives each other space. Walking today I caught up with a couple I'd been with last night. As I came up to them they crossed the road. It might have been that my travel wash isn't as effective as I'd hoped but I think it was to give me, and them, space. Not having to talk. ...

Day 22 -- Sobrayo to Gijón -- 6km

By morning we were really itching to get out of this place. Literally and metaphorically.

We took a short walk to Villaviciosa, somewhere we took a wrong turn and ended up spending most of our walk on a narrow and winding highway. It was early enough in the morning that there weren't many vehicles, but enough semi's sped by to keep us moving quickly.

From there we took a bus to Gijón, and walked from the ...
