... spending the afternoon in Ancient Angora which was the administrative, commercial and political centre. Socrates expounded his philosophies here and St Paul came here to win convert to Christianity. The Stoa of Attalos was originally a shopping arcade (built 159-138BC) and is now an excellent museum.
Day one of ancient immersion completed and it was time to head back to the hotel on the Metro and enjoy dinner from the hotel rooftop looking towards the Acropolis.
... we made sure we got off at the next stop. Our bags were starting to get heavy and awkward, but we made our way up the stairs and over the footbridge. To wait for the returning train 15 or so minutes later it arrived, we jumped on and as soon as it started in the right direction we hit the stop button. We weren't missing it this time. We jumped off (not literally) and made our way up the stairs and then headed in the only perceivable direction... The other direction looked like freeway ...
... I took a shower that I realized how burnt I got. I definitely evened out my tan with a little red on my tummy and neckline! Better red than white tho! J Now we have a few hours to relax until dinner at 9, in which we will be going to the same Indian restaurant again since we liked it so much! ... hectic 24 hours, lots of sun and alcohol, that night was much more chilled with dinner along the waterfront watching the sunset. I was so excited to arrive at the next island, Santorini, and yet again I was not disappointed. Sailing into Santorini port and admiring the cliff faces with the many white painted buildings, Santorini was as picturesque as I imagined it and I enjoyed the island the longer I stayed and the more I got to see of it!
