Today is a 'sea day'...
We sailed from Messina at 5pm last evening and will not reach our next port of call until tomorrow morning at 7 am.
The most strenuous thing we did was a game of shuffleboard on deck after dinner, well at about 11.30 pm actually.
Whilst I initially had reservations about doing another cruise (I like to be able to see land) it has been a great way to see so much in such a short period of time . To go to sleep ...
... Christianity. All refused and were killed. Over time their bones and skulls have been collected and have been housed in large glass cases in the cathedral. Due to the high humidity on the day we visited the wooden shutters were all open and the bones of the martyrs on display. It was only earlier this year that the new pope finally recognised them as true martyrs.

... lives with his mother Antonia - or maybe the mother is the owner - but he speaks great English and was so welcoming and has given us the lowdown on the town - what to see and where to eat. We have had a good walk along the marina - some of the boats are just enormous. Oh the life of the rich at sea. Had dinner at Hosteria del Pardo not far from us. We are hungry about 6.30 - arrived at restaurant but they not ready for us until 7.30 - can't get ...
On our last day of riding, we took the train with our bikes from Ostuni to Squinzano to bypass Brindisi. This sounds complicated but it was easy – there was a car at the front of the train with bike racks and we just hopped on and off with them. We then carried on with our ride, now in the even flatter, arid plane of the Salentine penninsula. Still lots of olive trees though – I won't eat Italian olives again without thinking about ...
