Our Salt Flats Tour ended in the small Chilean town of San Pedro de Atacama. We continued travelling with Josh, a Canadian guy who had been in our jeep. The main attraction of the Atacama Desert is star-gazing due to the cloudless skies on most nights of the year. Unfortunately we were there 4 days prior to the Full Moon, so a lot of the tour agencies were closed. However, we stumbled upon a guy who was still offering the trips. That night we set off out of the town, ...

Given the name of the National Park, I was obviously expecting to see penguins. Nevertheless, on and around Damas Island I was also able to spot a variety of other birds such as some big pelicans, cormorants and vultures. But that was not ...

Day 6

... We walked around, tried to take some jumping photos and then got an ice cream. I for the first time, paid to use the bathroom, which was surprisingly clean. We all had lunch at this very cool almost mederteranian cafe. If I owned a cafeteria, I'd like it to look like this! After a little bit more walking, we caught the bis back to La Serena. It was an exhausting ride back and I felt kinda bummed because I was very dehydrated and Ash ...
