Eventually we got a but of sleep until Mario woke us up - getting a little annoying him hanging round us a bit now. Stayed there til around 6.30 than walked to main square of la serena then to supermarket. Walked back to hostel and finally Mario left us! Quickly made some food - yummy guac with carrots ...

On 23 June, I left most of my belongings at the La Serena hostel and decided to make a short overnight trip to the Elqui Valley, about one hour inland.
