... It was also packed with other yachts, but we found ourselves a space and settled down to enjoy the sun, trying not to stare at the beachgoers nearby.

We woke the next morning to mist, which had wrapped itself ethereally around all the hills and hiding the built up city from our view entirely. The sun soon started to burn away the haze, though, and as we motored out of the anchorage we could feel it was going to be a ...

It was pretty much perfect; the sun shone every day with wonderful intensity, the beach was long and sandy and there was a Lidl about ten minutes walk away.

We also met another British couple (with a dog!) there, and later 2-Blue turned ...

... the Gothic Santo Domingo church and the beautiful Renaissance Basilica de Santa Maria. The latter was a very busy operation and obviously keeping up with the times. I had to chuckle at a sign on the notice board inside outlying how parishioners could keep up with church events through their website, Facebook, Blogspot, and even Twitter! I had a delicious lunch in the pretty Praza da Lena, which in days gone by was the old firewood ...
