... and it was heart warming to finally see such a beautiful and renouned city. We dropped off the bags, ate pizza for lunch (of course), then caught a ferry around to St Marco Square.

It was full of squillions of tourists, crowding around the square and cathedral. We paid to visit to Doges Palace, which was very worthwhile. It was amazing.

We spent the rest of the afternoon there, had dinner, then caught the ferry back. A lovely end to our first day in Italy.
