      Come to Como

We arrived in Como after a long drive from Bassano via Verona and the Hertz office to replace, yet again, the GPS. The Neverlost might be the case on the odd occasion that it works, but without it getting lost is actually quite simple. Anyway, we found the office and a very kind man who quickly replaced the unit and we were on our way. Verona had been recommended to us as a place to visit - not sure why. It is a flat industrial city with plenty ...

      Not so glamorous Bergamo

Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.
The old town (citta alta) is up on the hill and we had to take ...

Sadly, some of it was closed due to the cold (it had snowed a couple days before). So we decided to walk to the Castello di San Vigilio on the top of the mountain. We saw that this road would take us there and it looked short and straight. However, the ...

... of about 20 desserts and when Steve went to order, was told that only 3 were available!

Today we started out walking to the city center…somewhat of a frustration since I enjoy a leisurely walk drinking in the culture of the city and the historic buildings. The pavement is very uneven so I need to pay attention to where I’m walking. Steve, on the other hand, just wants to get to where ...

      Milan

... with only your feet touching the ground. What ensued was absolutely hilarious. There was a lot of bending, complaint, failures and falls. Definitely a game a recommend if you are bored at home. Other than all of my misadventures, Milan is quite beautiful, with plenty of parks and grassy areas to go and enjoy. The food was great and the people lovely, but it wasn't overly amazing as a city in and of itself. If you were planning a trip, I wouldn't call it essential. From there it was off to ...
