... sun for tbe most part. The mountain road was predominantly downhill but there were a few 'bonus' climbs before the big drop down to Fornovo di Tara. Our breakfast was pretty marginal at the overnight place so we had a food stop at Fornovo. After that it was onto more ordinary busy roads for most of the day. From Fornovo the route has been fairly flat so it has been reasonably easy ...

Today Matteo & Caterina drove us to Milan for the day. We parked in the suburbs and caught the Metro in to the centre. In the end a very pleasant end to a rather tough day for us ...

We enjoyed this trip, lovely countryside until we hit the "burbs". Found our hotel easily enough and were surprised with the size of our room and the décor (lots of marble). After a cuppa we negotiated the local Metro subway and ...

... seats, and still before the train departed! Very comfortable journey, nice big seats, plenty of room and not many people around us. Not a lot to see as we zoomed through France and into Italy. Sophie wondered where all the animals were. Think we must have seen only 1 tiny flock of sheep and a small herd of cows all day.

Arrived in Milan and first impressions were that it wasn't very remarkable. Certainly no Wow look at that, as we taxied to our hotel. However, ...
