The stalls were mostly leather goods and jewelery and some Christmas decorations.
We had a lovely lunch in a bodega bistro where we sampled the local rioja..lovely.

On our way back we called in at a vast shopping mall, reminiscent of Meadowhall. There was a large C and A, and I bought a couple of nice sweaters (after a year’s travelling with only a limited selection of clothes, I’m beginning to look a bit shabby!) A little further down the coast is Salou, a large resort where summer still seemed to be in full swing – crowded beach, people swimming, busy cafes. We had a paddle and the water was so warm we regretted not bringing our swimming things. So next day we drove to Sitges, just a few kilometres from Vilanova, and enjoyed a swim and a sunbathe.
